OUR MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY
The Children’s Learning Center is a department of St. Paul’s School and provides work-site child care as a benefit to school employees. The Center uses the teaching team approach, which combines the training and early childhood education of all its teachers to provide high quality care in an innovative and consistent program. Located on the grounds of St. Paul’s School, the CLC offers the children enriching learning experiences that promote positive self-image as well as strong cognitive and social skills.
The Children’s Learning Center works under the assumption that each child is unique with his or her own interests, needs, and abilities. Both the physical layout and positive atmosphere of the CLC help to provide a warm, safe, and nurturing environment that encourages independence, self-respect and a sensitivity to and awareness of others.
NAEYC ACCREDITATION
The Children’s Learning Center has been accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs since July, 1993. It is one of 51 early childhood programs in New Hampshire (out of 1,200 licensed facilities in the state) and less than 8,300 programs nationally to have achieved accreditation. Accreditation criteria far exceed individual state licensing requirements in the areas of teacher-to-child ratios and group sizes, curriculum, teacher credentials, and program management. NAECP accreditation is the field’s professional benchmark for high quality early childhood education and child care programming.
TEACHING TEAM
All members of the teaching team at the Children’s Learning Center hold early childhood education teaching credentials through the NH Early Childhood Professional Development System. The credentialing of all teaching team members, many at the highest levels, is extremely rare in an early childhood program. The CLC produces annually a Teaching Team Booklet that provides detailed information on the education, specialized training, and professional experience of each member of the teaching team along with their photograph.
