The Kids' Place

Preschool in Wilbraham, MA 01095

The Kids’ Place in Wilbraham, MA opened in 1994. Each classroom in this building opens out into a completely enclosed area leading to our two designated playgrounds (one for preschool children and the other for our infants and toddlers).

This location has an infant room, two infant/toddler rooms, 4 pre-school rooms and a pre-k room. Our outdoor area also includes a covered porch area for shade protection or outdoor play in inclement weather. We encourage outdoor play daily.

The child care center adjoins The Kids’ Place administrative offices. We have demonstrated substantial compliance with nationally recognized criteria for high quality early childhood programs.

The Kids’ Place staff and families are involved in community events such as the Wilbraham Annual Peach Festival Parade. The children visit local nursing homes and create special gifts and treats for the residents.

We take the children on field trips to local farms and museums, and The Kids’ Place invites guest speakers to come to our center to educate the children on subjects from baking to wild animals.

The Kids Place utilizes the Creative Curriculum, a nationally recognized curriculum, which you will see evident in all of our learning centers. We at TKP believe that play is childrens work, so we emphasize learning through play. Our classrooms are designed to be age and developmentally appropriate with clearly defined learning centers featuring blocks, manipulatives, art, math, science, and dramatic play. Activity choices are set for children to choose, fostering a sense of independence by finding, using and putting away toys themselves.

We use Teaching Strategies Gold, a brand-new, on-going observational assessment tool that helps our Educators teach with intention by focusing on the individual childs development and learning.
