Preschool in Westfield, MA 01085
Opened as a 40 child educational preschool in 1984, our Westfield, MA center expanded in 1987 to include two infant/toddler classrooms and increased licensed capacity to 72 children. A further addition in 1999 added three new preschool classrooms, one new infant/toddler classroom, and enhancements new to the overall center. Most recent renovations increased center licensed capacity to 112 children. All infant, infant and toddler and preschool classrooms were newly furnished in 2009.
Three playgrounds have mulched surfaces with climbing equipment and sandboxes.
An asphalted area provides space for riding toys, basketball, and other games.
Accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children was achieved in 1994, having significantly met the criteria for quality early childhood programs.

The Kids Place utilizes the Creative Curriculum, a nationally recognized curriculum, which you will see evident in all of our learning centers. We at TKP believe that play is childrens work, so we emphasize learning through play. Our classrooms are designed to be age and developmentally appropriate with clearly defined learning centers featuring blocks, manipulatives, art, math, science, and dramatic play. Activity choices are set for children to choose, fostering a sense of independence by finding, using and putting away toys themselves.
We use Teaching Strategies Gold, a brand-new, on-going observational assessment tool that helps our Educators teach with intention by focusing on the individual childs development and learning.
