St. Matthew’s teachers follow a curriculum which focuses on preparation for kindergarten and language development. Your child will love the hands-on activities and group play in our multiple play rooms and fantastic playground. St. Matthew offers programs for children two years of age through eleven years of age, including a summer program for our school age children. Our school caters to a variety of schedules as our program runs on a twelve month schedule and offers all-day care.

We at St. Matthew Presbyterian Preschool and Daycare pride ourselves on a strong educational program for young children. Our preschool program is built around two coordinating curriculums. Our teachers form their lessons around a theme based curriculum from Scholastic’s Weekly Readers. The Weekly Readers provide seasonal educational themes that enhance the learning experience.
The Peabody Language Development curriculum nurtures the children’s’ speech and vocabulary skills encouraging sentence structure and effective communication. Through the use of story cards, pictures, and puppets the children increase their listening comprehension skills.
Our school day operates on a rotation schedule. This allows the children to utilize all four play rooms along with their classrooms, lunchrooms, and nap rooms. We also have a fantastic playground with a great tricycle area. Other weekly activities include science projects, art projects, organized exercise time, and circle time with songs and stories. Your child will learn computer skills in our two supervised computer rooms.
