As child care professionals, we recognize the intrinsic worth and value of each child. We understand that each child has a unique potential that develops through maturation. We believe that in order to help each child reach his or her potential, we must provide a setting that is positive, nurturing, stimulating, age-appropriate and child centered. We encourage learning by allowing each child to be actively involved by way of exploration and hands-on experiences. The children receive positive reinforcement and feedback to further foster the learning process. We encourage both verbal and non-verbal communication among the children to help build the skills that are essential in social settings. By using these viewpoints on how children learn, we can provide the framework that helps insure that each child develops a positive self-concept and a love for learning that will be the groundwork for successes in later school experiences.
