The program provides a series of structured and unstructured activities that contribute to the child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. Learning centers and motivational activities build the foundations for future academic pursuits. Children are encouraged to observe, discover, investigate and enjoy themselves in a learning environment.

Our program is developed around the basic developmental skills of the young child, which are: gross motor, fine motor, language, personal and social skills, self help skills as they pertain to school and cognitive skills.

In the younger classes, the emphasis is in the personal and social area. Learning to be a member of a group; to share; to get along with others; to use words to solve problems; and to have fun in a school setting is encouraged. Children work with shapes, numbers, emerging literacy skills and activities in all developmental areas, but the emphasis is in the personal and social area.

As the children become older and get closer to attending kindergarten, the emphasis switches to the cognitive areas. There is more structure.

The concentration is on school readiness skills including letter recognition phonics, rhyming, sound awareness, stories, print and word awareness, pre-math and math skills such as shapes, attributes, sets, number recognition, rote counting, patterning, location in space, number value, vocabulary, science observation and experimentation, and multiple other activities. Along with cognitive skills we continue developing fine motor skills, music awareness, creative art, pretend play, outdoor and indoor large muscle activities and all the developmental areas. We encourage fun learning in a warm, welcoming, child centered environment where children become happy, confident learners who are well prepared for grade school.
