Educational Playcare was established in 1986 to provide full and part-time childcare and educational programs in Connecticut for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. We are proud of our reputation as the provider of the highest-quality childcare, nursery school, and preschool programs for children that can be found anywhere. We’ve maintained our high standards with the quality control that comes from being small and owner operated. Despite our relatively small size, however, we are still able to offer all of the benefits of the large “corporate” daycares and more!
It has been our privilege to provide childcare services to thousands of families in Connecticut. In fact, some of our previous students have come back to work for us and help nurture the next generation!
Educational Playcare’s Preschool programs provide a variety of learning experiences with activities and thematic units that range from science and math to art and language. Some of the skills your child will be working on in our preschool programs include problem solving, conflict resolution, making predictions and becoming independent through the development of self-help skills. We also engage in circle time each day during which we talk about the weekly theme, share stories and songs, and expand our learning as a group. In addition to these more traditional preschool activities, all children participate in our Kindermusik, Yoga and Fitness & Dance Programs. Swim, Dance, Karate and other extra-curricular activities are available depending upon the location.

- Connecticut only requires that there be a single person on site who is CPR and First Aid Certified. ALL of our staff are, and most are Epi-pen and Medication Certified as well. This allows us to administer nebulizers and inhalers and to support children who have a severe allergy and require an Epi-pen.

Today, the importance of positive childhood experiences, starting from infancy, and their relation to future success in life is universally understood. It wasn’t so when we began in 1986. When we originally selected the name “Educational Playcare”, it was because of our understanding of the importance of play in order for learning to take place. We also knew the importance of providing a nurturing, secure, joyful and stimulating environment.
Children learn best through direct experience. We believe that this is best gained through play, for play is the work of children. It is through play that children develop concepts about themselves and the world around them. Our goal is to provide the ideal environment to support the “work” of children.

I chose EPC in Wallingford when I was 16 weeks pregnant with my now 2.5 year old. When I met the newborn teacher, Kelly, I knew it was the perfect place for my infant. Dropping your infant off at daycare for 9 plus hours a day can be a difficult decision but EPC made it easy for me. I never worried about my daughter. The one year old and two year old teachers have been equally great, I trust all of the staff there with my daughter and she really loves them all. You can tell they love what they do- for them, it's not just a job. The Tadpoles program they use to send pictures, updates and videos is great. The family events they hold are nice too, it's always good to meet the parents of the children and socialize. I have recommended EPC Wallingford to many friends and will continue to do so in the future.
We chose Educational Playcare for many reasons: the curriculum, the great facility, and the wonderful staff as they made us feel comfortable from the day we first toured (still pregnant!). Since then, we have felt beyond confident that we have made the right decision in choosing this place of care for our son. Since he was an infant, up until now in toddlerhood we have seen tremendous changes in his growth developmentally and socially. As new parents the teachers give us a sense of comfort as we know he is getting the best care with the right amount of love, nurturing and learning. An extra bonus is their use of technology in the classroom with the Tadpoles photos and reports. I cannot express enough how receiving photos of our child in their day gives my husband and I joy. To be honest, there was a point in our lives recently when we had to have our son switch to part time and it was not even an option to stop regardless, thank God we did not get to that point, however, I would consider working a second job just to keep him there because he is thriving. We cannot express enough how much we love Educational Playcare Wallingford!!
I love Educational Playcare. The friendly caring staff allows me to leave my daughter in the mornining knowing she is happy and safe. My 6 1/2 yr old daughter has also expressed to me that she loves Educational Playcare and she is the true test. She knows the staff is there for her and she is as happy as can be. My daughter has been in the school for over 2 years now. The advance curriculum that the school have put togther has made her transition to her other classes an ease not to mention that their personal interaction has made her advance in areas as education,writing,motor skills, interaction with other children, ect. They work with the children on a one to one basis and as well as a class. I feel that I have made a great choice with this school and would not change a thing. The personel are a great asset to the business and as well as too the children. I personally would recommend this school to anyone for their children.

Most of the teachers I have met have really truly seemed to enjoy being with my child, and that is what I love. Everything always looks clean and well taken care of, and my child is always smiling and happy when I drop him off as well as pick him up. His diaper is always clean at pick up, and he always seems to be well attended to. I have been with Educational Playcare for 7 months now, and each time I am there I feel comfortable with what I see. I am very glad we chose them as our daycare provider.
My son and I love EP! I can leave him there and feel that he is safe and having fun. Love the staff and my sons has learned so much from being there! Very friendly and warm atmosphere when you walk in!
My son has been going to Educational Playcare since they opened in Wallingford. I am so amazed by all the teachers and staff. They go over and beyond to make myself as well as my child feel like family. Their day to day schedule is packed with fun, educational activities. I love that they send detailed letters stating what the children have done through out the day and even email pictures. This facility is not only very perfessional but also extremely supportive. I would tell them that the staff there is absolutely amazing. They care so much about the children and enjoy what they do. Our children are with caretakers most of the day so us as parents need to make sure we find a great place for them and feel comfortable dropping them off everyday. Educational Playcare of Wallingford does that for me.
We are really happy with EPC in Wallingford! They do a great job of keeping parents informed about all of the fun things the kids do throughout the day by sending email updates & photos. EPC also offers a lot of great services, i.e., haircuts, healthy hot lunches, field trips during the summer, Quack Pack, music class, etc. The staff and teachers are so welcoming and its clear that they all really care about our kids. We would recommend EPC to all working parents!
