Skyline College Child Development Center strongly believes that young children learn best through play. To make the most of the learning opportunities, the classroom teachers in the program facilitate a variety of hands-on, direct experiences for the children.

Children play to:

  • explore and get to know their surroundings
  • find out how things to together and how they work
  • see what works and what does not
  • explore cause and effect
  • satiSFy their curiosity
  • understand social interactions with peers and adults
  • release energy
  • meet challenges

The Child Development Center desires to nurture compassion and to encourage personal growth in all endeavors, both by interaction with others and by individual journeys of understanding. Through play and the development of relationships, children grow and develop socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively. Our children’s program is devoted to the development of the whole child in partnership with the family and home.
