St. Paul’s Childhood Center (SPCC) is a non-profit child development center sponsored by St. Paul’s United Church of Christ founded September 4, 1970. SPCC serves children six weeks to twelve years old (Before and After School Program and Summer School Age Program), in the beautiful and historic Summit-Grand Avenue neighborhood. SPCC is a participant in the Parent Aware program and is a four star (out of four) center as well as a NECPA accredited center. The mission of SPCC is to provide the community with a safe, engaging environment for early learning that fosters physical, cognitive, social/emotional development, as well as promotes a positive sense of individuality through a community-inclusive, child-interactive, arts infused emergent curriculum.

We are licensed by the state of MN, and are proud to offer a place for early learning with low ratios, and a highly qualified staff. SPCC is located at Summit Ave and Milton St. in the east wing of St. Pauls UCC., across from William Mitchell College, and in the heart of the Grand Avenue business district. SPCC has been providing the community an exceptional resource for early childhood education for forty-one years.

Our facility includes spacious classrooms full of natural light, a superb large muscle room, an art studio, a playground with a whimsical playhouse, and a nurturing staff dedicated to the field of early childhood education.

SPCC provides developmentally appropriate learning experiences and care, in a safe, nurturing, engaging, and interactive environment. The environment and guidance from teachers fosters positive growth and development. Teachers collaborate with parents to create an inclusive atmosphere, develop strong relationships with families, creating a community of advocates for children, early childhood learning, and early childhood educators.

The classroom environments we offer help to build a strong self-esteem through positive interactions, and encouraging individuality. Teachers offer learning experiences that challenge young minds, as well as set them up with opportunities for success. Respect of ones self and others is a core value at SPCC, and we celebrate individuality of all persons regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation or religion.
