Our discipline techniques provides safe and appropriate boundaries but is respectful of emotional and physical development. We believe in following a problem solving approach that empowers the child. It is based on the six-step approach to problem solving with modifications based on developmental readiness and need for safety. The six-step approach includes: initiating mediation describing the scene defining the problem generating solutions agreeing on a solution and following through.

The Sunshine Playschool program is committed to providing a loving safe developmentally appropriate and diverse setting in which a child can explore and grow to his or her fullest potential. We seek to foster growth in the whole child including the childs emotional physical cognitive social cultural and aesthetic growth. We understand that each child has their own personality and learning style that should be respected. We believe that in treating each child with understanding and caring around their own levels of ability maturity similarities and differences that an environment of respect and diversity can blossom. We learn through hands on exploration and play.
