Campus Canyon School welcomes students and parents to join the faculty and staff in providing a succesSFul educational experience. A spirit of teamwork creates a positive, warm, and nurturing atmosphere that is evident not just on-campus but finds its way into homes and the larger community as well. This spirit is defined in the mission statement of Campus Canyon which reads as follows: Through the cooperation of community and staff, we are committed as a Professional Learning Community to ensure that all students at Campus Canyon achieve high levels of learning and are prepared to apply that learning to become succesSFul members of our global society. We will ensure the learning of all students at Campus Canyon by:
Meeting regularly with all staff, parents and students in collaboration as a Professional learning Community;
Monitoring the academic and social progress of all students to achieve proficiency and above;
Using researched based programs, structures and strategies to ensure a strong Core I program, Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) and interventions;
Committing to Response to Intervention (Rtl) and an effective Pyramid of Intervention to meet the needs of all, academically and socially;
Using technology in all curricular areas with direct instruction, assessment, skills practice and reinforcement, intervention, research, student application of learning and as an effective communication tool;
Communicating effectively in matters of school business, ways to support students and Campus Canyon in partnership, learning goals and progress of goals;
Developing partnerships with local college institutions to practice, enrich and reinforce grade level standards through up-dated best practices and to further illustrate and demonstrate the concept of life-long learning for all.
The three “Cs”, commitment, cooperation, and community are recurring themes throughout the school. We are proud to be a California Distinguished School and Title I Academic Achievement Award winner for the second year in a row.
