The Children's Center

The Childrens Center is a 134 capacity group child care and school age program in Methuen, Massachusetts. We are committed to providing quality care for children ages 4 weeks to 12 years. We are leaders in the Early Childcare and Education. We are open daily 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We are a year round child care and provide half day programs for school age children throughout the school year and full day throughout the summer and during school vacations.

At The Childrens Center, our program is designed to provide a loving, warm, nurturing, and safe environment for all children. Each child is viewed as a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of growth and development. The curriculum and teacher interactions are responsive to individual differences in ability and interest. Different levels of ability, development and learning styles are expected, accepted and used in planning activities that promote childrens self esteem and positive feelings towards learning. Our environment and classroom materials are set up to optimize each childs learning. Social, physical, emotional, creative, language, and cognitive growth transpire through child-initiated, teacher-supported play and a variety of integrated activities and interest areas that they prepare. Children participate in whole group and individual activities that are planned, spontaneous, child initiated and teacher directed. The Childrens Center is an ongoing ministry of the Christ United Methodist Church of Lawrence and is a self-supporting, non-profit, and ecumenical adhering to the Judeao-Christian ethics and traditions with multi-ethnic awareness.

Our staff at The Childrens Center are highly nurturing, meet and exceed all EEC qualifications and are all certified in CPR and First Aid. All of our teaching staff follow the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and NAEYCs developmentally appropriate curriculum for all children at their individual learning level. Staff are very sensitive to all childrens needs and are caring and nurturing. We are very proud of our staffs abilities to promote healthy learning experiences for all children.
