The Council was founded in 1971 as a non-profit 501.c.3 agency for the purpose of providing child care services to meet the needs of the East/Northeast community of Los Angeles. In 1991 the Council expanded its service area to include the San Fernando Valley. The Council currently serves over 400 children per day in a total of 12 early education and care-centers located in:
