King Elementary School

King Elementary School is a Title 1 school-wide PreK-5 school located in downtown King, North Carolina. Our mascot is the eagle and our school colors are red and black. At King Elementary we strive to put children first.

Our curriculum emphasis is child-centered. Children learn through life applicable experiences using literature, math manipulatives, hands-on science, and other activities which involve active learning.

In order to meet childrens individual needs, we have teachers specializing in speech, academically gifted and exceptional children. All students attend music, media and physical education once per week instructed by teachers certified in these areas. We also have two computer labs available for students use. The computers operate on a school-wide network which provides numerous technological opportunities, including Internet access. Each classroom is equipped with Smartboard technology.

For students outdoor recreation and exploration, we have several playground areas and a nature trail.
