A Core Knowledge Preschool Curriculum, supplemented by a Fruit of the Spirit and a Leadership Curriculum, is used by the teachers to do their lesson planning. The Core Knowledge Curriculum is a research developed, developmentally appropriate teaching plan. There are twelve basic areas of brain processing activities offered in a total over-all review of the opportunities offered in the classroom. The lesson plans are designed to spread all the areas of learning over a monthly and yearly plan with the specific intent to build on learning from the previous months and to create foundations for future learning. There are two levels of tasks from which the teacher can choose activities based on the skill assessment of the classroom. Topics are just the crayon color that the teachers are choosing to color the big learning picture that is made up of the areas of brain processing that Grace Lutheran Preschool focuses on.
