The Preschools mission is to provide a warm and creative atmosphere to foster young childrens social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth through a child-centered curriculum. We believe children learn best in an environment which emphasizes creative expression, and curriculum that is attuned to the individual childs unique pattern of development. The Preschool creates an environment for children to investigate and discover the world around them. The foundation of our program acknowledges that all children are creative and have vivid imaginations. We believe early school experiences represent a time when social interaction and play will stimulate creativity, exploration, emotional development and self-awareness.

Play assumes an important role in providing children with the daily experiences which make up each childs unique development. Through teacher encouragement and a nurturing environment, our goal is to enhance every childs self-esteem and confidence.

Our classroom environment provides opportunities for children to engage in a broad spectrum of activities such as block building, art, dramatic play, music, creative movement, natural science and outdoor play. Learning is enhanced when children are free to create their own experiences and self-initiate activities. With this in mind, The Preschool places the child at the center of curriculum development.

The Preschool encourages children to make choices and learn to relate to themselves as individuals as well as part of a group. Children enjoy learning, discovering and mastering new experiences and challenges. These positive experiences provide a foundation for present and future learning.
