Lifting Off Academy accepts children from six weeks to sixteen years of age, regardless of race, creed, religion, and/or gender. Additionally, we are committed to offering our programs to any physically and/or mentally challenged child, subject to reasonable health and safety concerns. Lifting Off Academy is committed to developing the whole child; balancing the academic, physical, emotional, and social growth of each individual child, consistent with the work of Erikson, Piaget, and Kohlberg. We feel children develop sequentially from one stage to another, and that they possess multiple intelligences, as described by Dr. Howard Gardener. Our utmost concern is providing a nurturing, comfortable environment structured to meet the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of each child. Consequently, we stress challenging, individualized learning opportunities, fostering smooth growth from one stage to the next. We also believe children acquire knowledge and understanding through personal experiences, so we provide a wide variety of activities, which allow the children to experience success and develop confidence and self-esteem. Finally, we believe no childs development is complete without a close relationship with his/her God. At Lifting Off Academy, we teach that this God is the God of Christians, and that Jesus shows us the path to God.
