The McLean Child Care Center provides a safe and nurturing environment for young children. The physical, social, emotional, and
cognitive development of each child is unique, so our curriculum provides for growth on individual levels. We believe that children learn
best when their play is self-initiated, selfdirected, and teacher supported, As a result, our teachers prepare hands-on activities that
encourage the development of age-appropriate skills.
Infants schedules are fully individualized so they can develop a sense of trust interacting
with caring and loving staff members. Toddlers focus on gross motor development, social skills, language, and self help skills
such as feeding and dressing. Preschool children enjoy fine motor activities such as scissors, art, manipulatives, and cooking.
They begin to develop pre-reading and basic math concepts as well as problem solving skills. Pre-K children focus on kindergarten readiness
skills such as letter and number recognition, phonics, and expanding on the above mentioned skills.
