The Laboratory operates three toddler groups with each group meeting two mornings a week. Six children are enrolled in each group. These groups are for children 18 to 35 months of age as of September 1 of the current academic year. The child’s chronological age determines in which group the child is placed. Two morning and two afternoon preschool groups meet Monday through Thursday. Morning groups meet 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Afternoon groups meet 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Up to fifteen children are enrolled in the 3-year-old classes which are referred to as the younger classes. The older classes for children who are four-years enroll up to sixteen children.

Eighteen five-year-olds are enrolled in the 5-year-old class which meets 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Children are selected for the program using the following criteria: birthdate date of application and gender. Preference is given to siblings of children already enrolled in the program. In addition high priority is given to families who have had children previously enrolled. The child’s age as of September 1 is used to determine in which group the child is placed. We strive to have a balance of gender in each class.
