Panola Way Elementary Preschool

Panola Way Elementary School Preschool opened in 1986 and is located in east central Dekalb County on Panola Road near the intersection of Covington Highway. Currently, the school serves students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through fifth. The school community is a typical suburban neighborhood.

Panola Way has a professional, well-trained staff, including 64 certified teachers, 37 with advanced degrees and 27 with Bachelor’s of Education degrees. The administrative team is made up of a principal, two assistant principals, and an itinerant lead teacher for special education. The PreK-5 school staff includes 47 classroom teachers and 11 paraprofessionals. Additionally, the school staff includes one counselor, two secretaries, a bookkeeper, a media specialist, a part-time media clerk, one music specialist, two physical education teachers, an art specialist, one teacher of gifted, two teachers of the moderately intellectually disabled, six interrelated teachers, one speech therapist, two Title I math teachers, two Early Intervention Program teachers, and one clinical assistant. All staff members are teaching in-field according to Georgia certification standards. The teaching experience of the staff is comprised of 25% who have taught five or more years, 38% who have taught five to fifteen years, and the remaining 37% who have taught over 15 years.

Panola Way has an active PTA and is fortunate to have great volunteers, with about 200 hours of volunteer time donated to the school each month. It is the commitment of all involved with Panola Way to prepare students for lifelong learning and provide them with the skills necessary to succeed in a global society.
