Opportunities- Early Head Start

nation wide effort sponsored and funded by the Department of Health and Human Services. The Head Start mission is focused on providing comprehensive services to income eligible pre-schoolers and their families. Opportunities, Inc. Head Start is located in Great Falls, Choteau, Conrad, Cut Bank, and Shelby. In 2008, Head Start enrolled 356 children. The importance of family literacy is stressed throughout the program. Parents are encouraged to observe and volunteer in classrooms and on field trips. Activities they can do with their children at home are provided and encouraged. Our families also gain the information needed to make a smooth transition upon leaving the Head Start program for school.
