Nixa Public Schools Xlt Program

We have kicked off our MAP competition! We have half of our students and teachers on the Red Team and the other half on the Gray Team. Students should wear their red or gray shirts on MAP Monday. We are having fun Minute to Win It type competitions in the gym on Monday mornings. MAP testing will take place April 3-5 and April 10-12 this year. It is very important that you try not to schedule any doctor or dentist appointments during this time. At the end of the month, I will be sending home tips for you to help your child be successful during testing.

Espys attendance percentage for January was 94.9%! We are a little down from last year at this time. Please make sure you get doctors notes when you take your children to the doctor. Our first graders had the highest percentage with 95.5%. We appreciate you working hard to get your children to school every day!

Students continue to show great character at Espy. Many of our students have even earned more than one dog tag for their necklaces! We will have our Celebration Assembly to congratulate all the students that received the trustworthiness superstar title on March 5 from 2:00-2:30 PM. If your child receives a character award this year, you will get an invitation to our assembly that is held during the last week of each month. Marchs Character Education word is COURAGE, and the All Star Celebration Assembly will be April 2 at 2:00 PM.

Espy received a check for $650 from McDonalds Night. This money will be used to buy books for our Literacy Library, purchase snacks for our remaining Attendance Parties, and purchase snacks for a party for our Honor Roll students at the end of the year. I appreciate you showing your support for Espy!
