Newport Head Start

It is a Federal program for preschool children from low-income families. The Head Start program is operated by local non-profit organizations in almost every county in the United States. Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities. They also receive free medical and dental care, have healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing outdoors in a safe setting. Head Start helps all children succeed. Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disibilities. The program serves 3 and 4 year old children who meet the Federal income guidelines.

Special Needs:

Vision, hearing, speech, language & developmental screenings along with dental exams will be conducted. Children with health needs will receive follow-up care. Other services will be available for children with special needs. Mental health services are also provided for families as requested.
