The purpose of this preschool is to foster the young child in the development of his/her spiritual, intellectual, social and physical abilities. The Gospel of Jesus Christ will be the overall focus of all activities and learning experiences. Our purpose will be the development of the following processes:
- Spiritual: knowing that the Lord loves, protects, and forgives, and learning to recognize right from wrong.
- Cognitive: developing a sense of time, increasing attention span, beginning deductive thinking, and learning simple skills involved in organization, communication, mathematics, and problem solving.
- Social: learning independence, accepting compromises, assuming responsibility, showing respect, learning to share and to take turns, and developing awareness of proper and improper behavior.
- Emotional: encouraging, supporting, accepting, and helping each child grow in positive self-awareness.
- Physical: developing muscle coordination, caring for one’s physicalneeds, recognizing and accepting growth and change in self and others, and recognizing and accepting differences of people in size, race, sex, and talents.

hands on them and blessed them (Mark 10:14,16).
Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool/Extended Care is a Christian facility based on
the teachings of the Bible. It exists for the purpose of giving the children
entrusted to its care a Christian education. We will provide experiences which
will address your childs spiritual, intellectual, social and physical needs. This
will be accomplished through formal curriculum and an informal living-learning
experience in a Christ-centered atmosphere.
Hours of Operation
Extended Care hours are 7:15 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., Monday through Friday.
Preschool hours are 8:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., Monday through Friday.
School days for Preschool and Extended Care, unless otherwise noted, will
follow the Flagstaff Public School schedule. (See posted school calendar.)
Summer Care begins the week following school dismissal. (For a complete
schedule, see the posted calendar.)
In cases of inclement weather, Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool/Extended Care
will follow the Flagstaff Public School system for school closures. However,
when public schools have a delayed start, we open at our regularly scheduled
time.
