Learning Tree Montessori

The Learning Tree Montessori was established in 1981 and is the oldest private preschool and childcare center in Jessamine County. The school was the first Montessori school in Jessamine County and the first private center to earn a 3-star rating by the STARS for KIDS NOW program. The Learning Tree Montessori is open to all children who will benefit from our program, regardless of race, nationality, creed, or financial status.

Darrah Hensley has been the owner and director of the Learning Tree Montessori since its founding in 1981. Darrah is a Certified Montessori Teacher & has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.

The Learning Tree Montessori is licensed by the State of Kentucky to care for 60 children. Our teachers are qualified through education and experience to care for children ages 2 through 10. We are licensed by the Cabinet for Families & Children Services and are rated 3 stars by the STARS for KIDS NOW quality rating program. Our curriculum includes activities in practical life, sensorial, reading, math, science, geography, and history. We also encourage creative expression through activities in art, music, and dramatics. Each child is presented this curriculum according to his or her individual level of development.
