Katys Kids Preschool serves high-risk children from predominately low income, inner-city families in Phoenix, AZ. These children are often lacking the social, emotional and problem-solving skills needed to enter school and for life in general. From 2004 to early 2010 Neighborhood Ministries operated a very successful preschool partnering with the City of Phoenix Head Start program, a federally funded early learning program. Due to budgetary constraints and a change in policy, the city of Phoenix is no longer funding or partnering with private entities, such as Katys Kids Preschool, to provide preschool.
But that doesnt mean that the need for preschools like Katys Kids Preschool has diminished. In fact it has increased. Therefore, to continue meeting the ongoing, growing needs of its families and children, Neighborhood Ministries now operates its preschool under its not-for-profit status as Katys Kids Preschool.

Katys Kids Preschool will operate with the belief that childhood is a precious gift and will nourish this gift for a group of children with diverse backgrounds. Our warm, flexible setting fosters two critical characteristics wonder and curiosity as keys to creating lifelong learners. Storytelling, gardening, singing, imaginative play and painting are just some of the therapeutic activities that will fill our classroom every day.
