Kathy’s Building Blocks Nursery School is a Nursery School experience for children ages 2.9 through 6 years, from September through June. Half-day programs are on a one, two or a three-day schedule in the morning, and in the afternoon, on a 2 3/4 hour staggered time schedule.
Our program is a balance between academic based activities and child center choices. These activities and choices include reading readiness, fine motor, math, science, social studies, and motor and self help. The program also incorporates monthly thematic activities that includes but is not limited to: meeting new friends/learning school rules, personal and fire safety, holidays, nutrition, dental health, emotions, nationalities, being special, dinosaurs, planting, and butterflies.

Here at Kathys Building Blocks Nursery School our goal is to nurture the whole child. It is designed to be an intermediate learning block between the learning at home and formal education. Loving and educational care will be provided to all our children and peace of mind to their parents while they are separated.
The main objective at Kathy’s Building Blocks Nursery School is to build upon and use the positive self-esteem in each child to want to learn and do more because of their newly found independence, and through the use of positive experiences in the social, physical and academic activities they will encounter day to day. While intellectual development is an important Building Block in our program, we feel it must be balanced with the social, emotional and physical development to provide children with a strong foundation for their future success.
Another important part of our program is parental involvement. Parents are the completion of the triangle of education for children. In order to involve parents in our learning experiences, monthly letters are sent home with a brief description of the learning and social activities for the month. A parent bulletin board is used to provide information. Parent volunteers are always needed and welcomed. An open invitation is extended to all parents to participate and/or observe whenever they wish, and to make suggestions about our schools policy and programs.
