Center in Manhattan, KS 66506
The K-State Center for Child Development began 24 years ago as a parent cooperative. It has grown to a full-service early care and education center for children ages infant through school age. Professional staff with early childhood credentials use a nationally acclaimed curriculum and child assessment system. Children learn through projects based on the interests, through community exploration, and through nature-based outdoor learning.
The K-State Center for Child Development provides family-centered childcare in an environment that incorporates the experiences and values of all families and encourages children to explore their diverse world. The center community is made up of families from all over the world, and the diversity at our center is celebrated on an ongoing basis.
The center provides early quality Childcare and early childhood education for children of K-State students, faculty/staff, alumni, and community. The center has classrooms for infants (age 6 weeks to 1 year), toddlers (age 1 year to 3 years), and preschool (ages 3 to 5 years). The center also provides an exciting school-age program during the summer months (ages K through 4th grade). The center is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to serve 150 children at the Jardine site and 16 infants and toddlers at the Claflin site.
