Welcome to Santa Fe Trail Elementary and the 2011-12 school year!
Santa Fe Trail is celebrating the completion of 30 years dedicated to educating children! We are the home of the Trailblazers and our school colors are blue and gold. We take pride in the fact that our school was named for its historic location on the Santa Fe Trail. Santa Fe Trail is the newest school in the Independence School District having been constructed in 1980. The Santa Fe Trail attendance area is bordered by commercial streets on the west and east; Crysler Avenue and Noland Road respectively. The northern and southern boundaries, Truman Road and 31st Street, are residential neighborhoods. Busy 23rd Street and railroad tracks divide the Santa Fe Trail attendance area. Due to high traffic on this thoroughfare, the vast majority of students are bus riders. Families from zip codes 64055, 64050, and some from 64052 make up the student population. At Santa Fe Trail our staff has embraced a belief system that we always do what is best for our students. We believe that all children can learn and be successful. Our staff is dedicated to forming quality relationships with students and families. Santa Fe Trail is a strong neighborhood school tightly connected to our community. We are a school rich in tradition and value teaching the character traits that have been embraced by the Independence School District.
