Greater Works Fame Atlanta Academy

Greater Works Fame Atlanta Academy is a faith and moral building base institution. Our mission statement: preparing a bride for Christ. reflects our vision. We are not affiliated with any particular religious organization. But we teach the Bible. Greater Works is a non profit organization; our legal name is Greater Works childcare and community development Inc. We are two schools rolled up in one; a faith and moral base academic school for early childhood education and a performing Arts school. We service children from ages 6 wks to twelve years old.

The founders are mother and daughter, Myrtle Moore and Jean Robinson. The school was founded in July 2004. The doors open to do business in January 2005. Myrtle Moore has earned a MSW degree. She has worked in the Los Angeles, California public schools for over thirty years. She worked in an administrative role in pupil services. Jean Robinson also has earned a M.S. degree in Special education with a minor in art and a M.S degree in school business administration. She also has worked in the Compton school district for over twenty years as a teacher.

Both ladies experienced tidal waves of students being at risk in the public schools, simply because many didnt start off with a good foundation in the academics. Also they found astronomical numbers of children in the penal system because they had little or no moral or faith instruction in their families. With this knowledge, these ladies developed a theory that education should be holistic that included training young children in performing arts, faith and moral training as well as the academics. They designed a program for their children that daily include; bible study, dance, acting, music as well as the use of ABEKA curriculum instruction. This total program is included in the tuition. After a few years in operation, Greater Works discovered a need for special services for our children as well as our special needs children. We are now developing a program that will include services in speech therapy, occupational therapy, anger management, and family counseling. Keep watching our website for our new services!
