Head Start provides children with activities and experiences to foster their development, to help them grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Head Start children socialize with others, gain educational skills, solve problems, and have experiences which help them become self-confident. The children also improve their listening and speaking skills. Head Start helps transition children from home to Head Start and from Head Start to kindergarten.
