Fort Lewis Mesa Preschool emphasizes the development of the whole child through social/emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, and mathematic skills based on the Teaching Strategies GOLD curriculum. Teaching Strategies GOLD is implemented as a means of assessing children, developing the preschool curriculum, and creating the learning environment. Preschool students engage in multi-intelligence centers that encourage them to learn through play. The preschool staff uses these interactions to initiate teachable moments with students in both group and individual settings.
