Deep Run Child Care Center

Preschool in Deep Run, NC 28525

To care for someone else’s child, a caregiver must earn a high degree of trust from the parent. This trust can be enhanced by working together and learning about each other’s needs and expectations. In this way we are better able to give children the love and care parents want for them during their time apart. We believe children should be given love, support, understanding, and comfort throughout the day. We attempt to provide children with educational activities that stimulate cognitive and social development. We also believe that children learn best through play. Therefore, we provide a large variety of toys, dress-up clothes, art supplies and books in each classroom. We strive daily to find better ways for adults and children to learn from each other and make the most out of each day they spend together. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a part of your child’s life.

The Creative Curriculum is rooted in educational philosophy and theory as well as practice. It relies heavily on Erik Erikson stages of socio-emotional development, Jean Piaget’s theories of how children think and learn, and on principals of physical development.

During early childhood years children deal with three stages of socio-emotional growth. They learn:

To trust others outside of their families To gain independence and self control To take initiative and assert themselves in socially acceptable ways

The Creative Curriculum shows teachers how to foster positive responses to these three stages.
