Community Nursery of Cayuga Heights

CNS is a cooperative nonprofit nonsectarian preschool. We are the only half-day preschool in the county that maintains a day care center license accreditations and community partnerships. CNS is administered by the parents of enrolled students who cooperate with our trained and experienced teachers to create a vibrant and comfortable classroom. With teachers volunteers from Cornell and parent participation our adult to child ratio is almost never lower than one to five.

The goal of the CNS program is to provide a nurturing safe child-centered environment to help our children develop socially emotionally intellectually and physically. We bring special visitors into our classroom and take field trips. Daily programs in art and music encourage creativity and a variety of fine and gross motor activities foster physical development. For those ready to prepare for kindergarten activities in language math and science are readily at hand. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only
