CASP is a voluntary, community based, therapeutic program for special girls and boys ages 6 to 12 with emotional, behavioral and psychiatric needs. CASP utilizes a highly structured milieu and time-tested behavior management system. At the program, children participate in therapeutic groups which focus on developing social skills, adaptive coping skills, and self-care. The program incorporates opportunities for children to develop new interests and talents in specialized therapeutic groups such as cooking and dance. During school vacation weeks, and throughout the summer, the program offers morning and afternoon treatment with more relaxed programming. A primary goal of the program is to support and maintain children with their families in their home communities. To do this, each child is assigned a Child and Family Advocate to provide case management services and coordinate care between the program, family, and other providers.
