Welcome to McKenna Elementary School where everyone is a star. As you browse our website you will learn that McKenna is a school that provides a unique educational experience where learning is fun yet rigorous as we prepare our students for the increasing demands of the 21st century. Our school is comprised of approximately 700 general and special education students. McKenna houses several District programs including the elementary self-contained Special Education Program; the Gifted and Talented Program; M-TRACT the teacher center and the Senior Center. The diversity of these programs creates an especially exciting and enriching school environment.

Our entire staff provides social emotional and academic support to our students in an atmosphere of warmth care and concern. Tolerance respect and responsibility are the hallmarks of our school where the unique differences in each student are celebrated. A variety of extracurricular experiences offered in athletics fine arts school clubs and student government helps each child discover and develop their full potential.

McKenna is dedicated to creating a child-centered family-oriented and nurturing atmosphere for all our children. Each classroom is a community of learners a place where it is safe to learn with cooperation and collaboration among its members. The identification of individual learning styles and independent thinking is fostered. Academics are effectively integrated with state-of-the-art technology.
