When children are motivated naturally through their own interest, their learning is more comprehensive and concrete. Everything we do at Foundations is aimed toward developing each child’s internal curiosity and motivation to learn. This is the foundational platform that will propel your child toward success and it is never too early to begin the process.

Foundations enhances children’s thinking and learning abilities through its progressive, integrated approach to learning. The most important contributors to the success of our approach are:

  • Fewer children in each class fewer students per teacher means more individual attention throughout the day.
  • Hands-on environmentally rich learning groups No desks, but comfortable learning areas for students to gather in. Classes utilize small ability based groups to promote competence and confidence around each objective.
  • Integrated subject matter curriculum Children determine a subject they are interest in and teachers relate all academic objectives to this topic. For example: Children hear a story about fish and they become curious; teachers can inquire about color, count how many, look on map to locate specific geology, draw them, discuss their life cycle, create stories about fish, etc. In this manner the children learn effortlessly to add, identify colors, read maps etc. without consciously having to study any of those subjects.
  • Skilled educators at all levels, Foundations hires highly qualified teachers. We maintain a rigorous continuing education training schedule which benefits both staff and students by supporting the implementation of our complex teaching methods.
