Our school-age centers follow the Links to Learning curriculum. This curriculum guide for school-age programs provides an overview of learning and child development related to out-of-school time. It offers tips and tools for selecting planning developing and evaluating activities as well as demonstrating how to link activities to the Pennsylvania Learning Standards. The curriculum focuses on seven key learning areas: Literacy Science Math Problem Solving Arts Social Competence Fitness and Nutrition and Technology.

We recognize that children change greatly during the school-age years and that the rate and nature of change varies considerably both among children and across developmental areas within the same child. We approach these developmental realities as opportunities rather than as problems.

Self-selection of activities and experiences predominates our school-age program. We use positive guidance techniques and teach conflict resolution skills to help children achieve self-control develop their consciences and to become self-directed individuals who take responsibility for their own actions. Our activities and experiences contribute to all aspects of the childs development and cooperation while promoting a healthy attitude towards competition sound health good safety and nutritional practices and an awareness of and involvement in the area community.
