Apple School is a non-profit, non-discriminatory educational organization whose purpose is to provide quality preschool education and a quality Before/After School Program in an environment of warm support for each child. Established in 1982, Apple School has obtained Private School status and is not affiliated with any religious organization or corporate franchise. Our objectives are to expose children to the widest possible variety of experiences in order to arouse their curiosity, challenge their physical and cognitive abilities, and encourage self-expression. We will encourage independence in the care of self and the mastery of everyday tasks. We plan to utilize the wealth of talent and expertise available in this unique community to bring a myriad of enrichment activities and experiences into the classroom to complement our daily schedule.
Our primary goal for each child is the development of a strong, positive self-concept, which will allow the child to enjoy an ever-expanding competence in dealing fairly, confidently, and enthusiastically with himself, others, and the world around him.

The most important goal of our early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners. This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. We want to teach them HOW to learn. This means allowing them to advance at their own pace. We want each child to have a positive sense of themselves. Young children learn best by doing, which requires active learning, experimenting, discovering, exploring finding out how things work. Young children use all their senses, touching, tasting, listening, smelling and looking. Play provides the foundation for academic learning. It is the preparation children need before they learn highly abstract symbols such as letters and numbers. Play enables us to achieve the goals of our early childhood curriculum. Our goals are to provide stimulation for all areas of development: social, emotional, cognitive and physical. The activities we plan for children, the way we organize the environment, plan the daily schedule, interact with the children, are all designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum. We want each child to enjoy solving problems, express himself clearly, be creative, make good decisions, develop physical coordination, get along well with his peers, be self- confident, enjoy learning and love school.
