Rashkis School Age Care Program

Mel and Zora Rashkis Elementary School opened for the 2003-04 school year.

Zora Rashkis taught middle school language arts in the district between 1963 and 1979. She hosted the long-running cablevision show “Meet the Teacher,” which showcased area teachers and other staff, students, programs, and issues in the school system.

Both Mel and Zora Rashkis were leaders in numerous volunteer organizations in the community including United Way, the Community Alliance for Student Success, the Chapel Hill Public Library, and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation.
