The Montmorenci Center is a marvelous addition to a beautiful church. Located in the Candler area of Buncombe County, this center came about through the spirit of collaboration born of a church membership that realized the importance of caring for children. The childcare wing features 3 EHS classrooms and one preschool classroom, office space, a complete kitchen and meeting space. The two spacious playgrounds feature developmentally appropriate equipment and a shady, serene natural environment. A well-equipped gymnasium provides a multi-purpose space for rainy days and other activities. In addition to the high quality childcare and services for pregnant mothers that are operated on-site, we offer a home-based component that is ideal for families that dont want or need center care.

The MACFC philosophy is that the best education and development happens when the school and the childs family are partners. MACFC parents are supported as their childs primary teacher, and receive home visits bi-annually and one-on-one involvement from their childs teachers and child development specialists. MACFCs Family Service Specialists and a Social Worker help the parent(s) set and reach goals for their family, which might include maintaining employment, furthering their education, solving a financial crisis or getting out of a domestic violence situation.
