The Beacon Programs are school-based Community Centers funded by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development. The Samuel Field Y Beacon programs operate during after school hours summer vacation and on weekends and holidays providing a wide range of services and activities for children and their families. Beacon Programs include Basketball Tae Kwon Do Individual and Family Counseling Vocational and School to Work programs Dance Drama Chess Computer Homework Club Academic Tutorials Youth Councils Tennis Video Production and Adult Programs such as Computers Stress Reduction Parent Support Groups as part of a comprehensive menu ofactivities for all ages and interests. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only
