Building Blocks primary responsibility is to provide safe, fun, quality childhood education to our families and children. We are dedicated to the early childhood field in the Lawrence and Eudora areas. Building Blocks strives to be at the forefront of the latest research and methods available to create the best curriculum and learning environments. We believe that children learn best through play while respecting individuality and using developmentally appropriate practices. We respect our families and encompass multicultural education. Teachers act as facilitators in classrooms allowing the children to explore and learn. We know our teachers are our biggest asset and support their development. Building Blocks provides the highest level of safe, affordable, high quality service and developmentally appropriate programs to all children. We strive for excellence in the child care field by maintaining and enhancing a curriculum that encourages and supports active and involved children. Building Blocks encourages parent participation in the program. We have a parent volunteer committee to help plan special events that involve families. Parent teacher conferences are held twice a year as children are continually assessed throughout the year. Consistency is the key to any successful behavior management program. All employees have been trained on the same positive discipline strategies. We aim to provide a sense of security, a respect for order and establish acceptable patterns of behavior that are beneficial to the child’s development and overall well-being.
