The Boys & Girls Clubs of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is a nonprofit organization that relies heavily on the generosity of area residents and private sector organizations to ensure we have the resources necessary to serve more than 2,500 children every year in our seven locations

Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those that need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens and leaders.

The Clubs are managed by a full-time president and executive director and governed by a volunteer board of directors comprised of local residents. We employ a full-time professional staff, supported by part-time workers and dedicated volunteers. In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. These leaders serve as positive role models for our members and help create a warm and friendly environment where children feel safe, welcome and wanted.

More than your average after-school facility, we emphasize the value of education and strive to instill in our members the will to succeed academically. Through our five core programming areas and specialized initiatives, we also help members develop favorable character traits, identify their talents and interests, and provide an outlet for positive and rewarding self-expression. We enhance the development of children by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.
