The nursery school years are filled with curiosity, imagination, exploration and activity. When you choose to send your 2-, 3- or 4-year-old to the David Rukin Early Childhood Center Nursery School, youve selected a program that maximizes your childs creative, intellectual and social growth. Our Nursery School encourages young children to express themselves through music, art, dance, and language. Reading and math readiness are an integral part of the program. An exciting approach to Judaic customs and holidays, with an emphasis on Jewish values and culture, is an important element of our curriculum. Special enrichment classes provide children with opportunities to participate in creative play, sports, art, music, dance/movement, yoga, science and cooking. Your childs introduction to formal education will be a delightful experience, establishing a love of learning that is pivotal to future educational success.
The resources of the YJCC building, including its reassuring childrens pool, enable your children to move beyond their bright, cheerful classrooms and into the community that is their future. Family membership at the YJCC is required for Nursery School registration. Registration for Mid-Year 2s (2 by January 31) takes place in December; registration for the fall semester begins in January.

The David Rukin Early Childhood Center Nursery School employs a developmentally appropriate curriculum,
recognizing individual differences and the unique pace at which each child develops. Readiness skills are
developed in reading, handwriting, math and science, while children are encouraged to express themselves
creatively through art, music, movement and language. Our rich curriculum is enhanced by weekly swim, gym,
yoga, science and art led by specialists in those fields. Special enrichment classes provide opportunities
for your child to cultivate interests in a variety of areas including sports, art, dance, cooking and karate.
