The Childrens Center offers a program consistent with the highest standards of quality early childhood education. We use research based curriculums and developmental assessment to plan for each childs day, but teach through play and experience. Children are given opportunity to initiate choices of activities as well as having teacher-initiated instruction times.

We view children as active participants and learners. Therefore, children are given opportunities to direct their own play and learning through a variety of independent and group times at the Childrens Center. Process oriented experiences rather than product oriented experiences are stressed. Children learn through active and often messy play!
In our program the teachers role is to structure the environment to meet the childrens needs and capitalize on their interests. Teachers provide a learning environment that challenges without causing frustration. Teachers act as facilitators for learning by observing, questioning, modeling and reinforcing children.
Parental support and involvement are recognized as important aspects of each childs development and are essential to the successful operation of our program. Parents are welcome to visit the center anytime during operating hours and they are welcome to participate in any activities with the children. Parents are encouraged to notify administration if they need written materials to be delivered in their native language. We will make every effort to accommodate any individual family needs in this area.
