Hey There!

My name is Tamar. I am originally from Toronto, Canada and I live and work in Manhattan for a small media company. I have a degree in English – Cultural Studies and History from McGill University. Before I started my “real job”, I worked in childcare for 10 years. I have 14 younger cousins, so I’ve been changing diapers since I was 7! I spent my highschool years babysitting cousins and neighbors, and when I turned 17 I became an overnight camp counsellor at the overnight camp I grew up at. I went on to become the camp drama instructor (so I have many backpocket games) and eventually, became the Technical Director of the camp. I oversaw all aspects of programming, liaised with parents and third parties, and most importantly, got to know every kid at camp as head staff. I love working with children because I believe children are really smart – and should be treated as such! They deserve to be spoken to and listened to as we adults speak to each other – with respect and care.

Rate: $20/hour – $35/hour
