Write a messageHi! My name is Molly and I am 25 years old. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but recently relocated to NYC to attend Nursing School. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia, along with a minor in Human Services. My human services minor had an emphasis on development, allowing me to learn how to engage and encourage children to reach both physical and developmental milestones. I was a competitive gymnast for six years and spent four years coaching children ages 0-12. Prior to attending nursing school, I worked as an emergency medical technician at the level one trauma center. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. My goal is to work in Labor and Delivery as I am very passionate about both maternal and pediatric medicine. I strive to make each patient I come in contact with feel comfortable, safe, and well taken care of, and that is my intention for the children I work with as well. I started babysitting for families in my neighborhood when I was fourteen years old. In high school, I spent my summers as a camp counselor. One of my summers was spent as a sleepaway camp counselor, where I had 11 nine-year-old girls under my care. I assisted these girls with anything they required to grow and fully experience the sleep-away camp, of course, which meant many hugs for homesickness as well. The following summers, I spent working as a day camp counselor in which I guiding the children through daily activities while also encouraging my campers to be independent and unapologetically themselves. Throughout the end of high school and the beginning of college, I worked as a gymnastics coach. I led both Mommy and Me classes, as well as team training. Before moving, I consistently worked with three families in the Atlanta area. Since moving to New York, I have established strong connections with three local families. Two of the families I started with when their children were 4 and 8 weeks, respectively. The other family I watch has a one-year-old and a four-year-old, both of whom I have aided in everything from first aid calls to nightly baths and sleep routines! As a former gymnastics coach and gymnast, I am passionate about promoting physical activity and engaging children in fun, healthy activities. I love to draw and create art, which is an activity I enjoy sharing. I think that art and creativity allow children to express themselves freely.
