Hello!
Im a senior at NYU studying Musical Theatre, Child Adolescent Mental Health Studies, and Applied Theatre. I think this combination makes me a great babysitter because:
Acting takes lots of thinking on your feet and playfulness, which is very helpful with children. I also believe that actors are extremely empathetic people because of all the lives and characters theyre learning about and embodying. Taking time to really listen and understand what a childs needs are is very important to me.
Applied Theatre, in short, is using theatre as a tool for social change, a subsection of which is youth theatre. I am very passionate about using theatre to teach children how to keep being their full, truest selves and PLAY!
Child Adolescent Mental Health Studies have taught me why children are the way they are, how their upbringing affects them, the different stages of development, whats important during those stages, and much more. Studying this has made me feel even more equipped while taking care of children.
Aside from my studies, I love painting, cooking/baking, playing ukulele, and listening to the Beatles!
I love being a babysitter because I want to be a positive influence in a childs life and help them on their way to becoming their best self.
