Hello, my name is Kiera! I am 21 years old and about to graduate from Pace University with a degree in early childhood education. I will then be pursuing a masters degree in special education! I have 4+ years experience working in these areas and would love to help you out with your childcare needs.

My past jobs include: child watch at the YMCA, summer camp counselor, after school program teacher, volunteer in a preschool and more. Currently, I am completing my student teaching program so I am constantly practicing and bettering my skills to ensure the best for your child! Furthermore, I have completed 20+ of hours in training including first aid and CPR with the Red Cross. I have also been background checked and fingerprinted by the state in order to be cleared to work in childcare centers!

These opportunities have taught me the following skills including but not limited to:

- Being CPR and first aid certified (I can provide you with my certificate).
- Homework help spanning across ages preschool level to middle school age, including all subject areas. Especially knowledgeable in the early childhood level and the standards associated with it (phonics, phonemic awareness, counting, writing etc).
- Providing a safe, clean area for children to play, learn and explore in.
- Planning nutritious snacks and meals while taking into account allergies and dietary needs.
- Writing and/or planning lessons and activities for children based on their interests and what is developmentally appropriate! I have lots of materials for this including arts and crafts, puppets, books, etc and am very passionate about it.
- Clear communication with parents/guardians.
- Transitioning 25+ children from one area to the next safely, following protocol and doing head counts to ensure their safety. This includes new, unfamiliar areas such as field trips.
- Picking up students safely after their school day.
- Working and/or taking care of neurodivergent and special needs children. I aim to make this my career in a couple years.
- Behavioral management
